Public Relations
Our assignment this time is to select one of the listed subjects and explain how public relations help to convey an image to the masses. The subject that I have selected is Donald Trump. There are many different opinions of him. Some believe that he is incompetent and a poor choice for a president, whereas, some believe that he is an amazing choice for president. Public relations obviously tries to get more people to like Donald Trump as opposed to disliking him, but it does not appear to be the most effective. The things that Donald Trump sometimes says and does counteracts against the effects of what public relations are trying to do for him.

News Stories
Hello! The assignment that this post is for is the one in which I am to compare and contrast the headlines of different news sources. I have visited all of these sources on Monday, May 14, 2018 at 5:23 PM. All of the sources (BBC, CBS, CNN, and NPR) include a story about First Lady Melania Trump undergoing kidney surgery. On the other hand, only NPR seems to carry a story regarding Jupiter's moon, and only CNN appears to carry a story regarding 2018 grads. I observe that all of these different sources carry different stories for the most part, but all carry a shared story that many US residents will be interested in, that being the articles about Melania Trump's surgery.

Newspapers
Prompt: Argue whether or not newspapers are a thing of the past. Are newspaper chains good or bad for journalism (and why or why not?)
Personally, I think newspapers are a thing of the past. They're cool and everything, but they're a bit outdated. They're not as convenient of a way to get information as radio is, and radio isn't exactly as convenient of a method to obtain information as television is. Newspaper chains are good for journalism though because it's nice to have different mediums for people to be able to access journalism through. This is because everyone has different preferences, and while I feel like television is a better way of getting up to date on the news, someone else might have a different opinion and feel like reading actual newspapers is a much better way of obtaining information.

Movie Talk
Prompt 1: Some movie titles get altered when changed to a foreign language. In Russia, Ocean's 13 become "13 Friends of the Ocean." In Germany, Analyze This! is called Reine Nervensache, which directly translates to "Pure Nerve Thing." Do you know any foreign languages? Have you ever watched a Hollywood movie dubbed in another language?
I kind of speak another foreign language, that being Chinese (given that I am half Chinese). I'm also learning French, so ya
I haven't watched a Hollywood movie dubbed in another language I don't think, but when I was in China a couple years ago I watched a Russian movie that was in English with Chinese subtitles.
Prompt 2: A terrifying scene in Alfred Hitchcock's 1960 black-and-white thriller Psycho is the one in which Janet Leigh is stabbed in the shower. The final scene lasted less than one minute but took a week to shoot. What appears to be blood was filmed using chocolate sauce. What is the scariest movie you have ever scene? What made it so frightening?
The scariest movie I have ever seen is Coraline. That movie is so creepy. The mother has always scared me, and the fear of the button eyes have been with me throughout my life ever since I saw that movie for the first time. It was really scary because you know, the d e a d c h i l d r e n and the

so like... movies
Honestly, movie theaters make me low key anxious because everything is so b i g and l o u d so it's just like adifiusiufhasdfiuashdfhsdi
So from that, we can infer that I definitely prefer watching movies from the comfort of my own home c:
My viewing preferences connect to the way in which film industry is evolving because instead of having to go to a theater, I can watch a movie while sitting in bed and drinking some tea or something. It's great, I love it. Thank you modern technology :)))

How to Land Your First TV Writing Job Post
The article "How to Land Your First TV Writing Job" by Michael Wheaton discusses TV writing. It says that in order to get a job writing for TV, you must know the craft very well. This includes knowing the proper format in which TV scripts are written. Taking classes about TV writing would also be extremely beneficial. Reading scripts and looking at television from a writer's perspective can also help develop one's skill as a TV writer. In addition, being able to take criticism and rejection is very important-- not only in the TV writing field. This is an important thing for every type of writing.
TV writing is not something that I would like to pursue as a career. Scripts aren't really my thing-- I much prefer books, lol. I'd much rather watch TV than write for it. But yeah, that's about all I have to say for this post lololol

The Birth of the Simpsonian Institution Post
"The Birth of the Simposonian Institution" by Chris Turner discusses the Simpsons and how the show has affected modern culture. The Simpsons have made a large impact on pop culture, and it's been that way for many years. The article discusses the humor and fame of the series.
Multiple animated shows have been influenced by the Simpsons. One of these is Rick and Morty. Rick and Morty was influenced by the Simpsons in terms of the art style; as well as the humor in it.
As usual, I never know how to end these posts, so I'm just going to leave off on a really awkward sounding note lol

My Favorite TV Show
For those of you that talk to me on a regular basis, you'll know that my favorite TV show ever is CW's The Flash. It's based off off of the DC comic and follows the life of Barry Allen, a forensic scientist who works in the CSI unit of the CCPD (Central City Police Department). He suddenly gets the power of super speed one day and becomes Central City's hero-- The Flash. I'm sorry that that wasn't the best synopsis ever, but you know, it works. I love this show because of the plot and the characters. The character development is amazing, and the plot takes a lot of twists and turns. To sum it up, The Flash is really good! I'm not really sure what my favorite episode is, though. I really like all the episodes, so I can't really pick a favorite :c
